These binding systems mount through the board or use channel systems with standard baseplates, leaving space for ShredHook installation between the bindings.
NOT COMPATIBLE
- Bindings with External Structural Hardware
Some bindings have screws or hardware mounted on the outside of the baseplate structure. These external components interfere with ShredHook placement.
- Nidecker Supermatic
The automatic entry system features an external heel pedal mechanism that blocks ShredHook installation space.
- Certain Burton Models (Cartel X and similar)
Some Burton binding models manufactured during certain years have external mounting screws. If unsure, contact us with a photo.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR BINDING TYPE
1.Look at your binding baseplate - are there any screws, adjustment mechanisms, or hardware visible on the OUTSIDE edges of the baseplate (not the screws that go into the board)?
2.Check if your bindings have automatic/step-in features with external pedals or mechanisms (like Nidecker Supermatic).
3.For Burton bindings: Most Re:Flex (including Step-On) and EST models work great! If you have an older Cartel X or similar model, check for external hardware.
4.Still unsure? Contact us with a photo of your bindings and we'll help identify them!

INSTALLATION
REQUIREMENTS
Board Surface
Your board should have a clean, smooth topsheet surface between the bindings. ShredHook uses premium adhesive that bonds to most board materials.
Spacing
Ensure you have at least 6 inches of clear space between your bindings for optimal placement. The ShredHook system measures approximately 4x4 inches.
Temperature
For best adhesion, apply ShredHook at room temperature (60-70°F). Once installed, it's designed to withstand extreme cold and temperature variations.

Do Burton Re:Flex bindings work with ShredHook?
Yes! Most Burton Re:Flex bindings, including the popular Step-On models, work perfectly with ShredHook. However, some older Burton models (like certain years of the Cartel X) were manufactured with external mounting hardware that can interfere with installation. If you're unsure about your specific model, send us a photo and we'll confirm compatibility.
Will ShredHook work with my rental board?
Yes! ShredHook works with most rental boards. Just check that the bindings don't have external hardware or automatic mechanisms (like Nidecker Supermatic). The adhesive is strong enough to last your trip but can be removed if needed.
Can I use ShredHook with step-in bindings?
It depends on the step-in system. Burton Step-On bindings work perfectly with ShredHook! However, automatic entry systems with external heel pedals (like Nidecker Supermatic) are not compatible. If you have a different step-in system, contact us with a photo to confirm.
What if my board has graphics or a textured topsheet?
ShredHook's premium adhesive bonds well to most surfaces. For heavily textured topsheets, clean the area thoroughly and ensure it's dry before application.
